Building Resilience in the Face of Increasing Threats, 20 April 2017

Recent developments have raised global attention to the increasing threats that many countries encounter, in terms of vulnerability to natural disasters, climate change, fragility, conflict, and macroeconomic volatility.

Building on the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, other stakeholder insights and recent work by the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group (IEG), this event will explore how the World Bank Group and its development partners can better assist client countries in improving their resilience to acute systemic shocks.

The event will be attended by Gabriele Quinti from the Laboratory of Citizenship Sciences (LSC), Italy, member of CARISMAND project.

The meeting will take place in Washington on 20 April 2017, 12:45 - 14:00 (GMT) and will be also web-streamed by the IEG here.

Interested parties could join the conversation on Twitter at #BuildResilience and submit a question to the panel.
