CARISMAND partners will present the project at the European Emergency Number Association Annual Conference which will take place on 5-7 April 2017 in Budapest, Hungary.
Each year, the EENA Conference brings together emergency services, public authorities, researchers and industry representatives from all around the world to foster the sharing of best practices between all the relevant stakeholders.
The conference covers three days of interactive plenary sessions on high-level issues and exhibitions with innovative solutions in critical areas of emergency services.
This year’s edition will cover the following topics:
- Advanced Mobile Location
- Update on eCall
- The Future of CAD
- Use of Social Media in crisis
- Drones in emergency response
- Smart Cities & emergency services
A parallel event during the conference will be the 112 Awards Ceremony which recognises and rewards some of the emergency services and citizens for their outstanding achievements in improving and promoting the European emergency number 112.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), partner in project CARISMAND, will participate in the topic on the Use of Social Media in crisis. Dr. Rémy Bossu, head of the EMSC will be present the LastQuake service - real time earthquake information distributed through various means: websites, browser adds-on, the most complete “quakebot” on Twitter (@LastQuake) and smartphone applications (IOs, Android). Dr. Bossu will also present CARISMAND project, its implementation and results found up to this point.
CARISMAND will be represented also by the Romanian Special Telecommunications Service - the central specialised structure, with legal status, which organises and coordinates the activities in the special telecommunications field for the Romanian public authorities and other users.
